The addition of proximity chat in Warzone 2 continues to prove popular with players dropping into the battle royale. The mechanic allows you to communicate with any opponents that are nearby, which is handy if you’re attempting to enter areas where someone could be hiding.
As attention turns towards the launch of Season One Reloaded, players continue taunting each other as they attempt to become the last one standing at the end of the match.
During a recent broadcast, one Warzone 2 streamer uses proximity chat to defeat their opponents by switching their consoles off.
Warzone 2 proximity chat switches off Xbox
Twitch streamer Pork attempts to clear out a building after scoring a kill. Instead of firing a bullet, he uses proximity chat to identify any nearby threats before saying “Xbox, turn off” to bring an early end to the match of his opponent.
To the delight of numerous fans, the clip has generated nearly 90,000 views. One user goes as far as saying it’s “one of the best clips I have seen in Warzone” and it’s hard to argue with that. If you were on the receiving end of a mid-game shutdown you’d be furious but at the same time, you have to appreciate the ingenuity behind the play.

While some question the legitimacy of the clip, one suggests the chances of it happening are more common than you'd think. “If someone is playing the game through some speakers or have their TV on a high-ish volume, the console would probably pick it up.”
There’s every chance more proximity chat jokes appear in the not-too-distant future, especially when this one seems to work. So, if you’re an Xbox user playing with the TV volume high, it might be time to invest in a headset so opponents don’t switch your console off.
