Does Warzone 2 have SBMM? That's one question that often causes debate among Warzone players preparing to drop into the action.
The feature, known as skill-based matchmaking, is designed to create competitive matches every time you play during Season 5 Reloaded. While some think it only belongs in ranked play, others think it shouldn't feature at all.
But, before we share more Warzone 2 SBMM intel, take a look at our other guides highlighting the best AR and all there is to know about how to unlock the Izzy Operator.
Is SBMM in Warzone 2?
Unless Infinity Ward and Activision state otherwise, SBMM is present in Warzone 2. This is good news for those that want a competitive match but bad if you want to drop in and have some fun. Casual players want the removal of SBMM to create lobbies of varied skill levels and the feature to appear in a ranked mode to ensure competitive matches take place.
This makes plenty of sense but it's unlikely the developer will ensure such changes take place. If there are any changes to Warzone 2 SBMM, we'll update the guide with all the latest information.
What is SBMM?
SBMM, also known as skill-based matchmaking, is a matchmaking system used in Warzone 2 in order to match players with a similar level of skill. It creates relatively level lobbies which is entertaining for some that like a challenge in a bid to become the last player standing but hugely frustrating for those that don't have enough time to reach the skill of others.
Developers use it instead of connection-based matchmaking, a feature some want returning to games to take the edge off the competitive nature of a match.
That's all there is to know about Warzone 2 SBMM so far. We'll update the guide if Activision decides to share more information on the feature.
