Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players are getting sent back to training camp thanks to a nasty bug that resets their level and weapon progress back to level 1.
Via the official COD Updates Twitter account, the devs revealed that a bug is preventing progress on "various areas of the game from being tracked." This means things like the battle pass, challenges, SR, and events are not currently being tracked properly.
Furthermore, players may notice "unusual behavior related to account level and loadouts," confirming that yes, progress is being reset unintentionally across the board for many unlucky players.
The replies to the official tweet are being bombarded by players frustrated with the situation. "Annoying as I made level 300 this morning now back at level 1. All weapons also back at 1," one user wrote.
Following the first update, two more were shared by the COD Updates account. First, that Warzone ranked Resurgence play and MW3's ranked play have been brought offline as they try to come up with a fix.
Second, due to "ongoing issues," players are also unable to access Modern Warfare Zombies at this time. "Investigations remain ongoing," they added.
All these issues could stem following an update released on February 21 for both Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 for the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. Fans are speculating that something may have gone extremely wrong behind the scenes and are experiencing the results of that at the moment.
So at present, if you're a COD player, whether Warzone or MW3, it's best to stay away from the game until the issues are fully resolved as we don't know how long it will take for those affected to get their account and weapon levels back to normal.
