Breakdown
- A Warzone bug has made fans think Season 3 will last for 50 years
- Fans aren't taking this seriously, since this is clearly a bug
- Publishers actually want live-service games that can make them money for 50 years
A hilarious Warzone bug has told fans that Season 3 will be around for another 54 years, which would be incredible if it were real. This is something that will eventually be patched out, but it is fairly amusing to see random bugs that are more amusing than game-breaking.
Posted on the game’s official subreddit, this bug claims that the game’s current Season will last for a whopping 19,872 days. Obviously, this equates to 54 years, so fans looking for a multiplayer shooter to last them a lifetime might as well check this out.
Expect this Warzone bug to get patched out in the coming days or weeks, though fans should enjoy this glitch while it’s still there. Just imagining gamers in their 70’s waiting for the newest Season is enough to put a smile on our faces, even though that’s not happening.
While this glitch can be a bit annoying, fans would take this over gamers cheating and using some sort of hack that gives them an advantage. Unfortunately, this is a fairly common occurrence in Warzone, as the battle royale is filled with cheaters who just want to get ahead.
Considering how game publishers are prioritizing live-service games these days, it wouldn’t surprise us if they wanted something that could last 50 years or more. If any franchise can do that it’s the Call of Duty series, as each entry in the series sells millions and that won’t stop anytime soon.
Until the company makes a different game that could accomplish this, it seems like Warzone will be the series most-supported shooter for the foreseeable future. It probably won’t last 50 years since the first game did get a sequel, though Activision Blizzard barely mentions that this game is technically 2.0. Still, there’s a lot here to like and fans will be playing this game for years, even when newer entries make their presence known.
Warzone is available now as a free-to-play download, though the game is also available as part of Modern Warfare 3.
