The Warzone meta changes on a regular basis, thanks to Raven Software regularly applying a range of buffs and nerfs to weapons that are proving too popular with players.
With Season 5 now on the horizon, players have recently uncovered that some weapons were unstoppable at close range. This has had a negative impact on casual and ranked matches, with some community members claiming that the OP guns are ruining the game.
In a bid to address the issue, Raven Software has implemented a fresh dose of weapon balancing as part of the July 24 update, much to the delight of players who'd been growing frustrated with the status quo.
Warzone meta guns receive nerf
Following the dominance of the handgun category, Raven Software has unveiled a number of nerfs affecting the Basilisk and the X13 Auto pistols.
Judging by the comments on the patch notes, there are plenty of players thrilled with the change. "The akimbo snake shots were so broken. Had to have been the most broken shit in Warzone," said one.
On the other hand, some players are still hoping for improvements to server performance, with one saying: "Let's fix the lag first. It's been two weeks now." Some players believe these instances of lag and stuttering during matches are rendering the game "unplayable".

The next round of weapon balancing for the game is expected to come as part of the Season 5 update, which is believed to be the final seasonal update before the Modern Warfare 3 cycle begins. Recent leaks claim the next cycle will begin with the launch of the Las Almas map, complete with new points of interest.
For now, the game's meta has stabilised, but it probably won't be long before players uncover another overpowered weapon capable of shredding through the opposition in the blink of an eye.
