Warzone players believe the recent arrival of The Haunting event is the best the Call of Duty franchise has ever been.

Since launching in March 2020, Warzone has continued to reinvent itself with numerous updates and gameplay innovations. The Haunting saw the return of Zombie Royale in addition to a variety of Halloween skins to celebrate the spooky season.

Despite invisible skins continuing to cause chaos in casual and competitive matches, players still drop into the action in a bid to become the last one standing. Even with the game's game-breaking issues, fans believe there's never been a better time to play Call of Duty.

To show their appreciation for the current state of Warzone, user MarONEofficial took to Reddit claiming The Haunting "is the best CoD has ever been."

The player thinks: "This is the most fun I've ever had playing Warzone. Especially when it's trios on Vondel. Better than any event Warzone ever had." Other players are in agreeance. Another added: "It's a crime this happens once a year. Would be cool if it was on a special rotation at least once a month."

Instead of Halloween appearing every month, another player has suggested the developers continue utilising seasonal events to create new experiences. The player says: "If they bought in a semi-often night map into the rotation and a Christmas mode, it would be a f**king home run."

Although there's no sign of Santa's sleigh crossing the skies of Al Mazrah anytime soon, the Urzikstan map is expected to launch when Modern Warfare 3 integrates into the game later this year. It may not be Christmas-themed, but changes to the battle royale are on the horizon.

The success of The Haunting event is a sign Warzone and Raven Software is heading in the right direction. If it manages to continue from the foundations laid by The Haunting, the future of the battle royale is certainly looking bright.
