If you thought the upcoming Pokémon Go Sinnoh Tour would be the perfect time to bring the God Pokémon Arceus into the popular mobile game, you’d be right. Unfortunately, developer Niantic has decided he’s too “special” for this paid event.
The Pokémon Go Sinnoh Tour brings Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia into the mobile game. However, the new event doesn’t include some of the other Sinnoh legendaries such as Arceus, Manaphy and Phione.
Previous events have made sure to complete a region’s Pokedex before launch so fans can finally finish the regional dex. With the Sinnoh Tour, the aforementioned three species are still missing making the region impossible to complete.
In a statement to Eurogamer, Niantic explained that the missing creatures are just too “special” to be added in the event.
“We wanted to give them some dedicated space when they eventually make their Pokémon GO debut,” the spokesperson said.
As it stands, the new tour will be the first regional event to not allow fans to complete its assigned region. Previously, the Pokémon Go Hoenn Tour added its last regional creature just days before the event started. With past precedent, fans expected the Sinnoh Tour to do the same.
Fans of the mobile game have not taken kindly to the lack of Arceus in the new Pokémon Go event. With tickets already sold for the Sinnoh Tour with the expectations of the God creature making his way into the game, many who bought the limited event tickets are upset at the character’s absence.
However, it’s worth noting that Arceus was never announced to be coming to the mobile game at any point. While it would be nice to have the character in the mobile game, Niantic hasn’t promised fans anything at the time of writing.
The Pokémon Go Sinnoh Tour will be a huge event for the mobile game, asking players to re-learn the best counters and max out their Pokémon IV to battle the game’s new legendaries.
Pokemon Go is currently available to play for free on iOS and Android.
