Season 1 is finally coming to Marvel Rivals. While the season will have Dracula as the main villain of Eternal Night Falls, the season will also see the arrival of the Fantastic Four.

There have certainly been a lot of deep-lore cuts in the game, but fans are wondering what the interactions will be between Sue Storm and Namor—since they have a very spicy history in the comics.

What’s Up with the Invisible Woman and Namor?

Ever since the announcement of the Fantastic Four coming to the game, fans have been wondering just how they will deal with Sue (or even Reed) interacting with Namor.

For context, in the comics, Sue pretty much almost dated Namor, and the King of Atlantis (now Talokan in the movies) gets into flirtatious encounters with her once in a while whenever they meet in the comics. With Reed Richard's obsession with science, which usually leads to rifts between him and Sue, Namor is used as a romantic rival to add a little tension to one of Marvel’s oldest couples.

At this point, the dynamic has boiled down to Namor admitting feelings for Sue and Sue denying them because of her commitment to Reed, but it has been made clear that Sue also has feelings for Namor.

What Can We Expect from the Game?

While fans aren’t expecting any serious interaction between Sue and Namor in Marvel Rivals, it would be fun to see the two kind of flirt with each other if they ever find themselves on the same team; maybe there are even fun interactions in store for when the two are in enemy teams.

Fans also want to see one interaction between Namor and Reed Richards in the game. Many fans have been teasing Reed for not being ‘able to handle allat’ when it comes to Sue, and this could lead to some interesting bickering between him and the King of Atlantis.

If the Marvel Rivals developers wanted to play with the Sue/Namor dynamic, they could give Namor and Sue some kind of team-up activation. So far, the only team-ups available for Namor are with Jeff the Land Shark and Luna Snow, but his comic history with the Invisible Woman should merit something in the game.

Eternal Night Falls

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals is set to arrive within the week, and with it will also see the drop of the Fantastic Four. It has been rumored that the devs will only drop two heroes at a time, so maybe only half of the team will come during the start of the season, and the other half will arrive around the mid-season.

With all the leaks going around, Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch could likely drop first since they seem to be the most developed, and fans should expect The Thing and the Invisible Woman to drop mid-season. Then again, this is just speculation, and there’s still plenty of time for the developers to make more reveals before the actual season starts.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 arrives on Jan. 10. The game is now available for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5.
