World of Warcraft's brand new Classic expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic is launching very soon! One of the main things that you'll be doing early on in the expansion is dungeons. If you played Wrath back in the day, or if you're playing for the first time, you might be interested in a guide to help you get through some of them. That's where our Gundrak dungeon guide will come in handy.
Gundrak is a Troll centric dungeon and is in top corner of Zul'Drak. It's a higher level dungeon, closer to the end of the leveling experience, so there's more bosses and more mechanical difficulty.
While you're here, if you're looking to figure out what class and spec you want to play in Wrath Classic, be sure to check out our DPS tier list, Healer tier list, and Tank tier list. Also be sure to check out our speed leveling guide.
Gundrak dungeon guide
Upon entering the dungeon, you will be greeted with a quest giver with three quests. Two of them will be to kill bosses, and one will be to collect things within the dungeon. Drop down the middle hole, down into the water. Head through the door, and kill the ads in the middle to get to one of the first bosses. There are two entrances to this place, so depending on which side you enter or if you get into this dungeon via the dungeon finder, you might fight a different boss.
Moorabi
Moorabi has two phases, and a few abilities in each. Here are the phase one abilities.
- Determined Stab
- Ground Tremor
- Numbing Shout
- Mojo Frenzy
- Transformation
The first phase isn't too difficult. The tanks will have to be ready for Determined Stab as it can't be blocked, dodged or parried, so make sure you have a defensive cooldown potentially ready for that. Everything else is pretty straight forward. When he attempts to Transform, you'll go into phase two. Phase two's abilities are the same as the first one, just turned up a bit. Don't forget to click the pedestal by where the boss spawns before heading off, as it will turn the bridge in the center of the dungeon to get to the final boss.
After the boss goes down though, you can head up the stairs, or if you do a 180 from the boss and head into the little tunnel to go to an extra boss. If you're planning on doing the extra boss, we'd recommend doing him now because you'll make your way to the path to the Drakkari Colossus naturally and not have to backtrack.
Head down through the tunnel and end of the tunnel is a room with adds. If you hug the left side wall, you can skip most of the adds in that room. Head down the stairs to get to Eck the Ferocious.
Eck the Ferocious
Eck the Ferocious is the extra boss in this dungeon, and isn't required to complete the dungeon, but it's more loot. Eck has four main abilities here.
- Eck Bite
- Eck Spit
- Eck Spring
- Eck Berserk
This boss seems to be a bit of a damage burn fight. His abilities aren't complicated, so your goal should be to pump as much damage as you can before the 90 second Berserk happens. At that point, the boss will start to do significantly more damage, so you'll want to end this one fast.
After this is done, jump into the water and swim through the grates to come up in a pool that leads to the path to the Drakkari Colossus.
Drakkari Colossus
The Drakkari Colossus has a couple of different phases as well. This fight will bounce between the first and second phases. Here are the abilities for the first phase.
- Mighty Blow
- Mortal Strikes
- Emerge
When the boss hits 50% and is defeated, the Drakkari Elemental will emerge from the Colossus, and phase two will start. The abilities for phase two aren't too tricky either.
- Mojo Volley
- Surge
- Merge
When the Elemental reaches 50%, it will merge back into the Colossus and you'll do phase one again, and then you'll kill the boss. Click the pedestal and move on through the door to the right to the next boss.
Slad'ran
Slad'ran is the next boss, and has a couple of abilities. Some adds will spawn during this fight, and one of those needs a little attention. Here are Slad'ran's abilities.
- Venom Bolt
- Powerful Bite
- Poison Nova
The only ability here to keep track of is Poison Nova, which poisons any players within 15 yards of the boss. This can be cleansed and should be. As for the adds, the Vipers do inflict poison, but should be killed off quickly. The other add, the Slad'Ran constrictors should be swapped to and killed off immediately. They will grip and stun a player for 10 seconds or until killed.
After this boss is dead, click the pedestal and head back up to the Drakkari Colossus platform and head down the stairs to the now completed bridge. Kill the adds on the middle, and head up the stairs, killing off each Drakkari Rhino rider and rhino pair one at a time and get ready for the final boss.
Gal'Darah
Gal'Darah is the final boss in this encounter and has two different phases. Here are the abilities for phase one.
- Stampede
- Whirling Slash
- Puncture
This phase is pretty straight forward, the only annoying bit is the Rhino that is summoned and knocks you around. But once you're through that, you'll hit the second phase. Here's the abilities there.
- Impaling Charge
- Enrage
- Stomp
The only thing major to worry about here is the Enrage, which increases his attack speed for eight seconds. If you're tanking be ready with a defensive cooldown, and healers be ready to top up the tank.
And that's the dungeon! This dungeon Be sure to stay tuned to our other dungeon guides in Wrath Classic as well.
