As March approaches, so too does a likely new release in the WWE 2K series, if we are to believe the wrestling giant will follow their release date pattern. If rumours are to be believed, the next instalment from WWE will be of particular importance to many die-hard fans, as it is alleged that WWE 2K24 will honour the life and career of the recently passed Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt.

According to a WWE insider via their X, formerly Twitter, page, the sports entertainment giant is considering paying tribute to Rotunda in the next video game;

For 2K... The believe [belief is that] they will dedicate the game for Bray Wyatts career. They also are looking into pvp new opportunities, it could end up being a different game than 2K24. I have no other updates but will share when possible.

The wrestling world was turned upside down in August of 2023 following the announcement that ultra-popular superstar Bray Wyatt had suddenly passed away. He had been on hiatus shortly after returning to the company, but much was kept behind closed doors as to the reason for his absence. What made the news so unexpected was that there were a plethora of rumours that he was close to making his return.

Rotunda is remembered as being an incredibly creative and unique mind and it showed in the presentation of his character, so much so that fans believed that he would be the next big enigma following the retirement of The Undertaker. Despite his premature passing, he built an incredible legacy throughout his career as both Bray Wyatt and the terrifying masked persona, the Fiend, that WWE will potentially explore as their next game surfaces.

The last few entries in the WWE 2K series have had showcases for popular superstars of yesteryear and even today, from the likes of Rey Mysterio to John Cena, so it would not come as a surprise to see Rotunda honoured with a showcase of his own.

Given the horror-inspired nature of his character, there is plenty of potential for 2K to take the experience to an other-worldly level if they want to capture the essence of Rotunda that made him a household name in professional wrestling.
