A significant number of Amazon customers who pre-ordered the Xbox Series X could be in for a long wait as the new generation of video-game consoles kicks off.
Back in September, the retailer sent pre-order customers an email warning them that their consoles might not arrive right at launch, due to high demand.
Now, in a new mass email sent out on Monday, Amazon is informing some consumers that they might not receive the new Xboxes till after Christmas.
“We’re contacting you with an update regarding your order of Xbox Series X. We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December,” the email reads.
“At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by December 31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.”
Amazon is giving folks the option to cancel their pre-orders if they’re unwilling to wait. Otherwise, anyone who pre-ordered the new Xbox from Amazon can expect an email when their order has shipped.
For players who manage to get their hands on one, at least, the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles are set to launch in a matter of hours, on Tuesday, November 10.
