Assault rifles are among the most dependable weapons in XDefiant, and the humble AK-47 is no different. Packing high damage but a hefty kick, the AK-47 can be quite a beast when you first pick it up. However, with the best XDefiant AK-47 loadout and build in your hands, you’ll be dropping your enemies in the blink of an eye.

After spending countless hours testing every attachment for the AK-47 and the rest of the XDefiant guns list, I’ve found the best attachments to use for this trusty assault rifle. So, if you’re looking for the best XDefiant AK-47 build, then you’re in the right place.

Best XDefiant AK-47 Loadout

The best XDefiant AK-47 build is:

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  • Barrel: Stabilizing Barrel
  • Front Rail: Angled Grip
  • Rear Grip: Quick Draw Grip
  • Stock: Precision Stock

Unlike the M4A1, the AK-47 suffers from both vertical and horizontal recoil by default. While vertical recoil can be easily controlled, horizontal recoil is much more challenging to manage, often causing your shots to veer off target to the right side. That’s why, after tweaking every attachment in the firing range and extensive testing across the XDefiant maps and game modes, I’ve found building to rein in the horizontal recoil is the best course of action for an AK-47 loadout.

Arguably the two most important attachments in this AK-47 build are the Muzzle Brake and the Stabilizing Barrel. The Brake improves horizontal recoil control by a tasty 7% while reducing short and medium range by a negligible 5%. Likewise, the Stabilizing Barrel improves both horizontal and vertical recoil control by 2.5% but worsens your sprint-shoot time and ADS walking speed.

Pair these two attachments with the Angled Grip and the Precision Stock, which both improve control at the expense of mobility, and you’ve got yourself a much more accurate rifle. If you’re having little issue with the horizontal recoil, then I recommend swapping to the Superlight Grip for some added agility in close-range fights. And if you’d rather have a sight like the Reflex, the front rail attachment would be the best one to drop.

Bringing in the AK’s wild recoil, these hits to mobility are more than worth the trade-off and let you hit shots much more consistently. Plus, the reduced mobility can be easily fixed with the Quick Draw Grip, which improves sprint-shoot time and ADS speed by a welcome 10%. Now, you’ll have an accurate rifle that can dish out heavy damage upwards of 40 meters. See where it ranks in our tier list guide to the best XDefiant guns.

If you’re looking for a more aggressive XDefiant AK-47 loadout, then you could swap to the Rapid Fire Barrel and the Muzzle Booster, though keep in mind that this will severely impact your recoil control. As a result, you’d be best using this at close range.

XDefiant AK-47 Class Setup

Since the best AK-47 build is designed to dominate medium ranges, I’ve found the D50 sidearm to be a great secondary weapon. Kitted out with a Muzzle Booster, Quick Mag, Quick Draw Grip, and Reflex Sight, the D50 is a powerful pistol that’s great for finishing off enemies at further ranges than you’d expect. If you’re not a fan of the D50, then the 93R is a close-range beast.

The last tool you need for your kit is the Sticky Grenade. Boasting great damage and blast radius, the Sticky Grenade is perfect for clearing a zone and forcing enemies out of cover - right into the sights of your AK-47.

So there you have it, the best XDefiant AK-47 loadout you can make right now. Given its slower fire rate in favor of higher damage, the AK-47 won’t be for everyone. If you still can’t get on with it, take a look at the XDefiant M4A1 loadout instead.
