What are the best XDefiant guns to use? Well, that's a question on the minds of us all now that Ubisoft's arena shooter is finally out in the wild. Plus, with 24 weapons to choose from already, it's certainly not an easy choice. That's why, after spending countless hours battling it out with other players and putting every gun to the test in the practice range, I've put together an XDefiant weapon tier list to rank each gun.
But, before we take a closer look at the best XDefiant guns, it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the XDefiant meta right now. Likewise, remember that more weapons will be added as part of the XDefiant roadmap, so be sure to check back regularly to see what's changed and where each new addition ranks.
Best XDefiant Guns
After spending plenty of time testing and tweaking each primary weapon, the best XDefiant guns are the ACR, MP7, M16A4, and TAC-50.
For the most part, you can't go wrong with any of the weapons in XDefiant, though there are clearly some that standout from the pack.
Ever since the first playtest, the ACR 6.8 has dominated the competition and that still holds true. Even more so than most categories, each assault rifle has its own merits, but the XDefiant ACR loadout is simply the most versatile and reliable of the bunch. Its fast rate of fire makes it great for close-range, while its controllable recoil means it still holds up at mid-ranges. The ACR's reduced range compared to other assault rifles isn't all that impactful either, as most XDefiant maps are relatively small and tight-knit.
Likewise, the MP7 is a lightning-fast SMG that's perfect for rushing your enemies and controlling the map spawns. Building for mobility, the best XDefiant MP7 loadout shreds enemies in close range and is fast enough that its limited range is easily overcome.
The XDefiant M16A4 loadout won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's the best assault rifle if you can reliably hit headshots. Why? Well, the M16 is capable of killing enemies in a single burst to the head, which results in a faster time-to-kill than the ACR and other weapons. However, because of the delay between bursts, if you can't land enough headshots, then it drops in ranking heavily.
The last up is the TAC-50. If you're skilled enough at quick-scoping, the XDefiant TAC-50 loadout is all you'll ever need. Packing brutal one-hit kill potential to the chest and above, this sniper is capable of killing enemies before they even realize what's just happened.
XDefiant Weapon Tier List

As you can see, most weapons in XDefiant are well-balanced, sitting between the A and B tiers.
Generally, what you'll see from the weapon tier list is that high mobility is favored. With small maps and fast-paced gameplay, you need to be able to stay on the move and have strong close-range handling. This is why LMGs and marksman rifles are struggling right now, despite their high damage output.
The only weapon that truly is terrible is the AA-12. This is because it lacks not only the range of other shotguns (which is already very limited) but also the damage. If you're contemplating using the AA-12, you might as well use the Vector or the MP7 instead.
