The P90 is the most balanced SMG in XDefiant, serving up an effective damage range of around 16 to 20 meters, matched only by the MP5A2. It also boasts the biggest magazine of any SMG by default, letting you unload a volley of bullets down range. The best XDefiant P90 loadout makes this weapon even better, cementing it as a popular choice right now.

If you’re a fan of the MP7, I hate to break it to you, but the P90 is effectively an amped-up version with better damage range. While it’s got stiff competition from the likes of the ACR at mid-range and the other SMGs at close-range, it’s hard to say the P90 isn’t among the best XDefiant guns in the meta.

Best XDefiant P90 Loadout

The best XDefiant P90 build is:

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Booster
  • Barrel: Rapid Fire Barrel
  • Front Rail: Superlight Grip
  • Rear Grip: Quick Draw Grip
  • Stock: Precision Stock

SMGs drew the short straw when it comes to range in XDefiant, situating this weapon class very clearly at close range. While weapons like the Vector and MP7 suffer heavily, the P90 got let off a little lighter, providing best-in-class damage range. Because of this, this XDefiant P90 loadout can focus on improving its damage output and mobility, rather than increasing range and accuracy.

Swapping between the Barrel Extender and the Muzzle Booster is a good choice depending on the map.

That’s where the Muzzle Booster and Rapid Fire Barrel come in. Together, you’ll have a 7.5% increased rate of fire but a 30% decrease in horizontal and vertical recoil control. This might sound like a terrible trade-off but I’ve found the P90 to still be controllable despite the drawbacks. In action, it will decrease the P90’s time-to-kill (TTK), letting you go toe to toe with the likes of the Vector and MP7 in close range, yet still have above-average range and control. If you’d rather have more range, then you’d be best off swapping the Muzzle Booster for the Barrel Extender for the optimal combination, though the difference is minimal at best.

Next, the P90’s uniquely designed Superlight Grip improves ADS speed by 10% and movement speed by 2.5%, at the cost of 10% recoil recovery - which is negligible with SMGs. Likewise, the Quick Draw Grip boosts both sprint-shoot time and ADS speed by a tasty 10% while decreasing ADS stability by 15% - which is also not impactful on this SMG. Combined, these make the rather sluggish P90 much swifter, which works wonders with the increased fire rate.

Last but by no means least, the Precision Stock reins the recoil back in just enough with 5% improved horizontal and vertical recoil at the cost of 15% recoil recovery and 10% ADS speed.

With a boosted rate of fire and amped-up mobility without damaging the range and recoil too much, this XDefiant P90 loadout is perfect for close and mid-ranges, especially with 50 rounds in the magazine by default. This jack-of-all-trades won’t be for everyone but it stands out from the pack as one of the best SMGs right now, no matter which of the XDefiant maps or modes you’re playing on.

XDefiant P90 Class Setup

The P90 has most bases covered, at least compared to other weapons in its class. Because of this, you’ve got a lot of freedom when it comes to creating the perfect class setup for you.

Personally, I’ve found the 686 Magnum to be the best choice for a secondary weapon since it comes with the best range out of any of the pistols. If you need to take down a foe at range, the Magnum will have your back. Use the Muzzle Booster, Quick Draw Grip, and Reflex Sight for improved handling. Again though, you’re relatively free to use any sidearm you like, with the D50 and 93R being stand-out alternatives.

As for equipment, the Sticky Grenade will serve you best. There’s no wrong option here but the Sticky has great damage and the delayed detonation comes in handy when you’re pushing or holding objectives.

How to Unlock the P90 in XDefiant

To unlock the P90 in XDefiant, you need to get ten hipfire kills with SMGs. While it doesn't sound like a lot, completing this unlock challenge is actually harder than you think. This is largely due to hipfire spread being incredibly strong right now, causing most of your shots to miss the target, even at point-blank range.

To complete this challenge faster, I recommend using the Vector or MP7 and equipping them with hipfire attachments like lasers that improve hipfire spread.

So there you have it, the best XDefiant P90 loadout you can make right now. If you’d rather have something even more aggressive, then you should use the XDefiant Vector loadout next. Otherwise, take a look at the XDefiant guns list for other alternatives. All you have to do now is pair it with your favorite of the XDefiant Factions and you’re good to go.
