XDefiant undeniably takes a great deal of inspiration from Call of Duty, the shooter which cemented Team Deathmatch as an FPS staple. It's no wonder then that players are curious about an XDefiant Team Deathmatch mode.

No matter what mode you're playing, you'll want to bring the best XDefiant guns and best XDefiant loadouts with you. The competition can be tough even if you're not playing in the dedicated XDefiant Ranked mode.

Does XDefiant Have Team Deathmatch?

XDefiant has added a Team Deathmatch mode post-launch, releasing during Season 1 on Friday, June 21, 2024. This was a drastic change of plans for the developer following fan demand.

XDefiant emphasizes the unique abilities and traits of characters from across Ubisoft's IPs, embodying the XDefiant Factions and classes. These are designed with teamwork and objectives in mind, rather than the lone wolf slaying that is often found in TDM. As such, the developer believed a pure elimination mode didn't exactly utilize the game’s diverse strengths. However, in a drastic change of plans following significant fan demand, Ubisoft has added Team Deathmatch to XDefiant.

This complements the wide array of XDefiant maps and game modes already available with an added freebie between Seasons 1 and 2. In fact, Team Deathmatch can be played on the existing maps, so there will be no shortage of arenas despite TDM being a late and unplanned addition.

So, now you know you can enjoy the hyper-competitive thrills of Team Deathmatch in XDefiant, it's a good idea to get up to speed with the XDefiant meta so you know what's good and what's not.
