Death Mountain is one of the most iconic landmarks in Hyrule and has been present since the first Zelda game. Death Mountain hosted some of the toughest enemies and best loot in Breath of the Wild, so many players are confused about how to get into Death Mountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has changed the landscape of Death Mountain greatly, and the way to get in is not so straightforward. Now, let's get into finding out how to get into Death Mountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
How to get to Death Mountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Death Mountain is now spewing malice instead of lava, and is located to the east of the Goron village. Yunobo is the only person who can get you into Death Mountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Therefore, you need to find and defeat him first. To start the quest "Yunobo of Goron City" in Tears of the Kingdom, talk to the elder Goron near the big pile of rock meat in Goron City.
In a cutscene, you'll learn about the marbled rock roast and meet Yunobo, who has become selfish and uncaring about his people's well-being. To begin the quest, follow the marker to Yunobo and use minecarts to activate levers and defeat enemies. The path to Yunobo is guarded by groups of Bokoblins, so be prepared to fight. Additionally, you'll need flame resistance to reach Yunobo, which can be obtained through the Flamebreaker armour or elixirs with Heat Resist.
To reach Yunobo in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, talk to the young Gorons at the marked location on the map. You will face Yunobo in a hot cave, which requires fire resistance. Yunobo is invulnerable until he is stunned, which he does by rolling into walls. You must dodge his rolls and wait for him to become dizzy, then attack him with any weapon to take away a third of his health. Repeat this three times to snap him out of it. After defeating him, Yunobo will guide you to Death Mountain Peak, which is your next destination.
Going up Death Mountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
To reach the top of Death Mountain’s West Side in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you need to take a specific rail up. Begin by grabbing the cart next to the rails, then attach the nearby fan to the back, and start riding up. As you ride different vehicles, Yunobo will charge up automatically in front of you. Although you can't aim him vertically, he will move forward from where Link is facing. Use Yunobo's ability to break rocks that are blocking the track and take out enemies along the way.
As you ride up Death Mountain’s West Side in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you will encounter a barricade where Bokoblins are guarding the way. Defeat them, break the barricade, and continue using Yunobo to break rocks that block the tracks. Eventually, you'll reach Sitsum Shrine, located at the end of the tracks. Use this shrine as a quick teleport point and continue to the top of Death Mountain.
