With the release of Tears of the Kingdom now within touching distance, Legend of Zelda fans are desperately counting down the hours until they can take to the picturesque plains of Hyrule again.
For those Nintendo stans who’ve made it through the past few weeks by desperately bingeing Breath of the Wild challenge runs and getting into intense debates about Ganondorf’s appearance, tomorrow simply can’t come soon enough.
While a bunch of Link lovers have already taken to social media to reveal their plans for the big day and which version of the game they’ve chosen to invest in, others have been working on creations designed to celebrate Tears of the Kingdom’s arrival.
How are you planning to spend the remaining hours until Tears of the Kingdom drops?
Both of these interesting Zelda-themed projects can be found in recent threads on the subreddit r/zelda, with the first having been posted by its creator, user Purpledroyd, who revealed: “I spent 85 (hours) cutting this Legend of Zelda series trailer to celebrate TotK's release. One last look to the past to prepare for the future on Friday. Enjoy!”
As you might imagine, the video in question features an array of iconic moments and encounters from each of the Zelda games that’s preceded Tears of the Kingdom, making for pretty nostalgic and emotional viewing if you’re a long-time fan of Link’s adventures.
“Dude, oh my God. This literally brought me to joyful (expletive) tears. This game has been such a huge part of my life through so many stages. It hasn’t been my life (my wife might argue that), but it’s always been there,” said user D-TOX_88 in response to it, adding: “Simply incredible. You captured it so well.”
While you can seemingly only see the trailer on Reddit for now, Purpledroyd revealed in another thread that it’ll likely be uploaded to their YouTube channel once they’ve had a chance to make some final tweaks.
Meanwhile, in a different thread, user Digital_Frontiers celebrated the occasion by sharing a massive gallery of high-fidelity screenshots they’ve taken during their time with Breath of the Wild, which have seemingly provided a lot of Reddit’s Zelda fans with some beautiful visuals to gaze at while they wait to return to Hyrule.
