Despite what Dr. Disrespect has said, Call of Duty: Warzone continues to be one of the most popular free-to-play shooters around, so it makes sense that Activision would make the game playable on next-gen consoles.
You can play it on your PS5 or Xbox Series X and witness how it runs better on these systems than the PS4 or Xbox One, especially since the game was recently updated.

Can I Play Warzone On PS5 With PS4 Players?
This has left a lot of last-gen players concerned, with some of them wondering if PS4 players can play with PS5 players.
Players will be happy to know that the answer is a resounding yes. As it turns out, there isn’t a proper Warzone PS5 port yet so when you’re playing the game, it’s still the original PS4 version.
Obviously, this isn’t a problem since the console playing PS4 games is one of the reasons why fans were going crazy for the system and the enhanced hardware does mean it runs better on a new console but you are mostly playing with PS4 players.
We’re sure that Activision will be working on a proper PS5 version of Warzone so that players can witness the game in all of its 120fps glory.
Sony doesn’t allow PS4 games to go beyond 60fps so the version on PS5 is the same game last-gen players are playing, albeit with better framerate and loading times.
It’s worth noting that the Xbox Series X version does run at 120fps so it looks like the best way to play the game is on Microsoft’s next-gen console or a gaming PC.
Activision will probably make the PS5 version run just as well, assuming they ever make a proper next-gen port of the game, so Sony fanboys shouldn’t feel too distraught.
You can play Call of Duty: Warzone with your PS4 friends on PS5 since players are technically playing the last-gen version of the game, just on a brand-new console.
The game is available now as a free download on those consoles, along with Xbox consoles and PC.
