Since the beginning of Season 2 of Warzone, the AUG and FFAR 1 metagame has dominated the battle royale, with almost all players using both weapons as a part of their loadouts.
The combination of a rapid rate of fire provided by the FFAR makes it the perfect weapon for close-quarters and mid-range engagements while the AUG is capable of dealing incredible damage at any distance.
After a brief period of weapon variety in Warzone’s ever-evolving metagame, the AUG and FFAR combination have become mainstays in loadouts and must be used for any chance of making it onto the victory helicopter.
The current metagame has been met with widespread criticism from a number of players including NRG’s Jordan ‘HusKerrs’ Thomas.
HusKerrs Demands AUG Nerf
In a Tweet reaching out to Warzone’s developer Raven Software, HusKerrs expressed his frustrations surrounding the current metagame, stating that the overall time-to-kill (TTK) is so low that it’s having a negative impact on the battle royale.
He even goes as far that the meta is almost as bad as the pre-nerf DMR meta which dominated the battle royale for weeks after the Black Ops Cold War arsenal was integrated into the game at the beginning of Season 1.

When Will The AUG Be Nerfed?
Although the mid-season update is right around the corner, Raven Software has remained tight-lipped in regards to any changes that could arrive to the battle royale.
With plenty of criticism surrounding the current state of the metagame, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some form of nerfs implemented for the AUG and the FFAR 1 in order to restore some kind of balance to the weapon arsenal.
