Genshin Impact, the action-RPG with more than a resemblance to Breath of the Wild, has been downloaded over 17 million times on mobile platforms alone.
That news comes from App Annie's Twitter account, an analyst site with a focus on mobile applications and gaming.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, it's also the largest international launch of a Chinese title in games industry history.

Genshin Impact Is A Huge Success

According to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad (speaking to IGN), the game is estimated to have made $50 million in its first week of availability.
Much of that investment has come from China, Japan, and the US, with over 5 million players outside of China (where developer MiHoYo is based) logging in.
The game offers an action RPG on mobile devices but has also launched on PS4 and PC - although at the time of writing, no sales or download figures were noted for those platforms.
Genshin Impact is supported by in-app purchases, but many players have noted that it's more than possible to play without spending money.
The game was met with a heavy backlash when it was announced, with Zelda fans protesting at the game's booth at 2019's ChinaJoy convention.
Since release, however, it sounds as though public perception has turned.
The game has a very respectable 80-rated Metacritic score, and many players are noticing that it distances itself from Breath of the Wild in key ways - including co-op play.
While the game is coming to Nintendo Switch, you may be wondering if it'll come to an Xbox console.
