At long last, the next generation of consoles has been confirmed to be released at the end of the year and the PlayStation 5 will represent Sony as we transition to a brand new phase in gaming. With the Xbox Series X standing in Microsoft's corner, there are plenty of features that gamers will want to know when deciding which console to buy.
One of the most important factors when deciding which console to buy is the price; around the games, controllers and the console itself. With a holiday 2020 date in the books, its likely only one console will be a possibility at launch for customers.
So what is the price of the PS5? Here's all of the information for UK residents looking to buy the new PlayStation.

PS5 Release Date and Cost
The PS5 is set to release 'Holiday 2020', meaning anytime between October and December.
Thinking back to the launch of the PS4, it released November 15th 2013, likely meaning that the PlayStation 5 will release near Christmas.
To back up this theory, a leak has suggested the release date will be November 20, which would put it in direct competition with the Xbox Series X, which has a rumoured release date of November. Game on.
It's estimated that the PS5 will cost £400 - which will be priced competitively with the Xbox Series X. There are plenty of factors that will influence the final cost - games, marketing, region etc.
Microsoft has revealed Halo Infinite will be a launch title, while the PS5 will likely launch with a few big exclusives; none of which have been officially confirmed.
PS5 Pre Order
According to GamesRadar, a number of retailers, such as GAME in the UK, Best Buy in the US, and Game Mania in the Netherlands have launched sign-up pages online.
On these pages, you can sign up and be notified the second the PS5 will be available to pre-order; we would estimate this will come around E3 2020.
On the production side, dev kits are landing at developer’s doors, and have found their way on to Reddit.
Companies like Square Enix ave revealed they’re hard at work on on a PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV, while BioWare has dropped a teaser trailer for a 2022 release of Dragon Age 4.
