With the remake of Resident Evil 4 arriving today, it’s a great time to be a horror game buff in search of something to play with the lights off and scare yourself silly.

While some of these fearless fans have already been enjoying a taste of what the game has to offer by delving into and modding its demo, which even packed a hidden difficulty mode to challenge hardened Resi veterans who blazed through it easily on their first try.

If you’re currently waiting for the full game to install or counting the hours until you can get home and play it, a fan-made video that recreates Leon’s antics in real life might help you temporarily sate some of your thirst for survival horror.

How accurate do you think this Resident Evil cosplayer’s re-creation of Resi 4’s combat is?

This cultist-killing creation is attracting a lot of attention on the Resident Evil subreddit, having been posted by its architect, cosplayer Lakeksteel, who’s previously recreated scenes from Resident Evil 2 and even made a Legend of Zelda-inspired fan film.

As you can see above, their latest work is centred around some of the rural action sequences from early on in Resident Evil 4, with the Tiktoker taking on the role of Leon and taking on some creepy foes using his trademark pistol and knife, along with some well-timed punches and kicks.

This action is interspersed with a whole bunch of HUD and menu elements that’ll be familiar to anyone who’s given the remake’s demo a go, including some quick-time-event button prompts and red tinges around the screen to indicate taking damage, plus some killer muzzle flash and blood splatter effects.

The Resi fans responding to the thread were incredibly impressed by Lakeksteel’s work, with user GhostArrowN7 saying: “That was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.” and Virtually_Hidden adding: “(The video) has (a) knife-chainsaw parry, (so it gets) 10/10!”
