Lucasfilm Games have resurfaced with a bang as they announce a new open-world Star Wars game.

Just a day after they announced a new Indiana Jones game, they've now dropped the mic and walked away.

2021 is now looking far brighter for the games industry.

So what is this new game all about? Here's what we know about the new Star Wars game.

Release Date

There is no release date, but we're expecting it to arrive at the earliest 2023.

Expect to see more information later this year.

What Is It?

This mysterious Star Wars game is a brand-new, story-driven, open-world Star Wars adventure!

No other details have been shared at this time.

Setting

While it's unknown where or when the story will take place, Lucasfilm Games VP Douglas Reilly did say the following:

“We want to uncover the stories they’ve always imagined telling and make them resonate with our fans, and across the wider Star Wars galaxy.”

Whether the story will be considered canon or not is unknown, but it doesn't look like this story will feature the key characters that make Star Wars what it is.

Developers

Ubisoft Massive are in charge of creating this title.

Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft’s critically-acclaimed studio based in Malmö, Sweden, developed Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

They were reportedly selected for their expertise in developing immersive worlds, and in pushing the boundaries of technology with their proprietary engine, Snowdrop.

This doesn't mean that EA will no longer work on the Star Wars title, it simply means that more players will enter the game.

“We’re really proud of the games we have created with EA,” Lucasfilm Games VP Douglas Reilly says.

“We will continue working with them and our relationship has never been stronger. While we may not have a lot of details to share at the moment, we’ve got a number of projects underway with the talented teams at EA.”

Engine

Based on the above information, we assume it will use the Snowdrop Engine or an upgraded version of that engine.

Price

We expect it to retail for £59.99 - but it could be a game that offers free aspects based on the trend with similar titles.

Platforms

We're expecting this titles to arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
