A Star Wars shooter from EA is in development, but it's not expected to be a Battlefront title according to Reddit user OrcaOrcaisnotalone.
The Redditor, who has somewhat of a proven track record with leaks, noted that the game is "small-scale" when compared to the likes of Battlefront and Jedi: Fallen Order.
Star Wars Shooter Rumoured For 2021, Coming From EA
As reported by GameRant, the OrcaOrcaisnotalone noted that the game has been in development for just over two years.
They also confirmed that the game's scope is similar to Star Wars: Squadrons, EA's recent dogfighting game that was well-received.
The game will launch in Q4 of 2021 on "all major platforms excluding the Nintendo Switch", and is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 (Battlefront is developed using DICE's Frostbite engine).
The big thing of note is that OrcaOrcaisnotalone seems convinced the game is a shooter, but couldn't confirm whether it's first or third-person.
EA is working on a small scale Star Wars Game that will release later this year.

While these kinds of rumblings should be taken with a pinch of salt, it's clear that there's an appetite for Star Wars games.
After all, there's a good chance that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is already in development, while Battlefront 3 also seems highly likely.
We also know that Aspyr is working on a Knights of the Old Republic title.
Finally, Ubisoft Massive will be developing an open-world Star Wars game – meaning we're sure to be inundated with chances to visit a galaxy far, far away in the next few years.
