Hitman 3 topped the UK charts for the last week, selling more than Hitman 2 and almost 50% of sales were for the PS5 version, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
Interestingly, 27% of sales of the game were on Xbox platforms (where the game supports Smart Delivery), while a further 25% were PS4 purchases.
Developer IO interactive also noted that the game is the biggest digital launch in franchise history. Considering the game is available on more platforms than ever (including streaming via Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia) that's perhaps no surprise.

Hitman 3 Hits Top Spot In Physical Sales For The Week, Nintendo Games Continue To Sell Well
Elsewhere, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe continue to dominate what Nintendo Switch players are buying, with the console also represented by Ring Fit Adventure and the Switch version of Minecraft in the top 10.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, GTA 5 continues to sell well, with Rockstar's open-world opus dropping from fourth to sixth – despite having launched in 2013.
