Crossplay in Path of Exile 2 makes it easy to play with friends regardless of their platform.

Knowing how to tweak crossplay settings is necessary if you want to expand your multiplayer options or keep things on your platform.

This guide shows you how to adjust crossplay settings so the game suits your playstyle.

How To Enable (Or Disable) Crossplay

Path of Exile 2 lets PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players share the same in-game world thanks to crossplay.

Crossplay is on by default so you can play and team up with people on other platforms. However, some players prefer to keep things on their platforms.

You can't turn off crossplay in the game right now, but you can tweak it depending on your system.

Crossplay settings are handled in the system if you're on a console.

Here’s how you can adjust it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S:

PlayStation 5

  • Open the Settings menu.
  • Go to Account Management.
  • Select Privacy Settings.
  • Look for cross-play preferences and adjust them to enable or disable cross-play.

Xbox Series X|S

  • Open the Settings menu.
  • Navigate to Account.
  • Select Privacy & Online Safety.
  • Locate the cross-play settings and toggle the option to enable or disable cross-play.

Unlike consoles, PC players do not currently have an option to disable crossplay.

This feature is just turned on; there's no option to change it through system settings.

Right now, PC players can always interact with players from different platforms in shared zones and towns.

However, the developers may introduce crossplay customization options in future updates.

You won’t see players from other platforms in towns or shared zones if crossplay is off. Still, there are some multiplayer elements left in the game.

You’ll still come across and interact with players from your platform. You can still use parties, guilds, trading, and chat, keeping co-op gameplay smooth.

Turning off crossplay could mean fewer players in the world chat and public areas, especially during off hours.

However, this cut will unlikely affect the experience since Path of Exile 2 keeps things active, even with fewer players.
