June 28, 2024: HoYoverse has revealed the Zenless Zone Zero banners for launch during the Pre-Release Special Program livestream.

Gacha fans will already be familiar with ZZZ’s banners, though to newcomers to the genre, it’s an incredibly confusing system. Every two weeks, the Zenless Zone Zero banners offer unique new characters for you to try your luck at acquiring using your hard-earned currencies. As such, knowing the current and next ZZZ banner is crucial to building out your roster of characters.

This Zenless Zone Zero banner guide will go over the characters and items you can get your hands on right now, as well as the pity system and the standard banner. If getting all of the Zenless Zone Zero characters is important to you, especially those at the top of our ZZZ tier list to breeze through the endgame activities, then you’re in the right place.

First Zenless Zone Zero Banner

The first Zenless Zone Zero banner will be released on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and is Mellow Waveride, which features:

  • Ellen (S-Rank, Ice)
  • Soukaku (A-Rank, Ice)
  • Anton (A-Rank, Electric)

Following the pattern HoYoverse has established with Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero’s first banner features the first closed beta banner that players could access - Mellow Waveride, Ellen’s banner. ZZZ continues the trend of these beta banners carrying over directly into the release of the full game. Check out the Zenless Zone Zero release date to find out more.

Ellen is an S-Rank (five-star) Ice damage dealer who is capable of dishing out heavy freeze attacks. At the launch of the game, Ellen will no doubt be the best main DPS character we can unlock, making the first banner one to keep your eyes on. Remember though, main DPS units are also often the first to get powercrept, meaning Ellen might not be so popular after the next couple of banners.

Zenless Zone Zero also has a W-Engine banner, which gives you access to new weapons. The first is Deep Sea Visitor, Ellen’s signature W-Engine. Take a look at our Zenless Zone Zero W-Engine guide to learn more.

Likewise, there is a Bangboo banner called An Outstanding Partner which features only Bangboos and W-Engines. The first featured S-Rank Bangboo is Butler, alongside rate-ups for A-Ranks Penguinboo and Devilboo. Check out our Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo guide to learn more.

Next Zenless Zone Zero Banner

The next Zenless Zone Zero banner, 1.0 phase two, begins on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, and is Unswerving Bullet, which features:

  • Zhu Yuan (S-Rank, Ether)
  • Nicole (A-Rank, Ether)
  • Ben (A-Rank, Fire)

Zhu Yuan will headline 1.0 phase two in her Unswerving Bullet banner. As another S-Rank DPS character, Zhu Yuan will have strong competition, despite her being an Ether character. Packing a variety of firearms from rocket launchers to dual pistols, it’s hard to say no when you see Zhu Yuan in action. This banner, especially considering the popular A-Rank characters featured, will be a popular choice.

Zenless Zone Zero Standard Banner

The Standard Banner in Zenless Zone Zero is called the Stable Channel, where a handful of characters, W-Engines, and Bangboos are permanently available - unlike limited-time event banners.

When you’re just starting out, there is also a discounted beginner banner which reduces the cost of ten pulls down to eight and features the same set of items.

The Standard Banner also has an S-Rank selector. Like the five-star selector in Honkai Star Rail, in ZZZ, after 300 pulls, you can choose the S-Rank character you would like from the Standard S-Rank characters.
