On the hunt for information surrounding Destiny 2 Season of the Wish? We've got you covered.

Season of the Wish is the 23rd season for Destiny 2, spanning all the way back from 2017. It's a long-standing MMO-like title and continues to encounter plenty of ups and downs.

In the case of Destiny 2, it's been way more of the latter than the former, with recent news of massive layoffs and the delay of the Light and Darkness saga conclusion, The Final Shape, hitting the community back to back.

Still, a new season always sparks some excitement. With all that said, let's take a look at key information regarding Season of the Wish in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Season of the Wish start date

Season 23 in Destiny 2 kicked off on 28 November.

Generally, seasons last roughly three months before we move to new content, whether that's another season or a brand-new expansion; however, as we've mentioned, recent layoffs and the delay of The Final Shape have changed things this time around.

That means Season of the Wish does not have a definitive end date. It could be prolonged like Season of the Lost (which lasted six months due to The Witch Queen's delay), or maybe Bungie is waiting to announce what will happen with Season 24 down the line.

The next Destiny 2 season was scheduled to launch at the same time as The Final Shape. Barring some massive rework, it'll be likely heavily tied to the story of the expansion, so chances are we're in the Season of the Wish grind for a long time.
