The story of Palworld is one where a game, which was often dismissed as a Pokemon clone, rose to meteoric success to the surprise of millions. However, it seems the team behind Palworld, Pocketpair, themselves were not prepared and are now desperately short on manpower.

Pocketpair is currently hosting a large recruitment program due to the incredible success of Palworld. They've been working hard adding features such as Palworld PvP and new features to stop Palworld cheaters. However, that's not enough to keep up with the increasing demands on the team.

According to a post on X from their main Japanese account,

"There are still many things I want to do in Palworld, but we are severely lacking in friends! ! !

We are recruiting for all positions, but we are especially looking for planning/engineering positions!

It doesn't matter what engine you have experience with, so if you are interested in creating a completely new game, please apply! !"

It's no secret that Palworld was developed with a fairly small budget. Despite the style and execution of the game being charming and loved by many, it's pretty clear there's a lot of jank unique to indie games. If Pocketpair wishes to iron out these bugs with new updates and keep their high user counts, they must step up to match the enthusiasm players share.

Not only did they advertise the announcement through their main account, but they also added an application link below. Pocketpair Japan's official Craftopia X account joined in under the thread, and it appears the team at Craftopia is also looking to expand. They added a whole new 20-point list of why they're a great company to work with, and we'd assume these extend to Palworld as well.

It's important to note that while Pocketpair is based in Japan, 70% of their employees work from overseas. The company has a lot of growth potential, and you can head to their EN page if you're looking to find a career with the company as a game developer. They've mentioned that prior experience isn't necessary, but any experience with Unreal Engine 5 would let potential candidates stand out.

Despite Pocketpair garnering a poor reputation due to Craftopia and how they handled NFTs there, they've certainly managed to pull off a comeback with Palworld. They're providing constant updates and community giveaways to keep the fanbase happy and we might even see a PS5 release soon.
