Stellar Blade will receive its biggest update next week. On November 20, the highly anticipated Photo Mode and the Nier: Automata collaboration will finally be released. Players are already looking forward to replaying the game and soaking in the sights from a new perspective.
Finally, Photo Mode
Fans have been waiting for this Photo Mode feature since it was mysteriously left out during the game’s launch in April. Seven months later, Developer SHIFT UP is hard at work with the promised feature and a selection of new photo mode tools that help add some flavor to your photos.
In a recent PlayStation Blog Post, SHIFT UP showcased the new Photo Mode feature, highlighting poses, adjustable sliders, camera options, and more. Overall, the update will open up a floodgate of impressive screenshots of characters like Eve, Lily, Adam, and the City.
Other potential screenshots are combat sequences highlighting Eve facing against the Naytibas or just simple landscape shots as she strolls the post-apocalyptic.
The NieR: Automata Collaboration
The Photo Mode isn’t the only thing added in the November 20 update. The special collaboration with Yoko Taro’s NieR: Automata will also be available. For both fans of the series, this feels like a dream come true. Seeing Eve with 2B and A2’s suit wasn’t on everyone’s bingo card, but here we are.
Stellar Blade Director Kim Hyung Tae emphasized that this crossover event was made possible due to mutual respect for both companies. NieR was a massive inspiration to Stellar Blade, and this collaboration was a successful outcome.
The NieR: Automata update includes Emil, the mysterious character with a round head. His shop will appear, featuring eleven different crossover items from the NieR series. Of course, this includes 2B’s costume.
New Skins
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Stellar Blade update without Eve getting a new set of skins. There will be four new costumes and one new accessory that awaits Eve’s wardrobe, further adding appeal to its upcoming Photo Mode.
Among them is the ‘Symbol of Legacy’ accessory, which, when equipped, changes the appearance and presentation of the Tachy Mode.
PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced
The Stellar Blade updates don’t end there. Since the PlayStation 5 Pro’s release, over 50 PlayStation titles have received the ‘Pro Enhanced’ treatment. Among them was Stellar Blade.
This update came out a week before the photo release, giving players a taste of the definitive visuals before Photo Mode arrives. On PS5 Pro, Stellar Blade supports new enhanced graphical options exclusive to the new console.
PC Release
And just like that, Stellar Blade is coming to PC in 2025. This massive announcement was unveiled after its Photo Mode and NieR: Automata Collaboration. Fans will finally get to play Eve’s adventures on mouse and keyboard.
SHIFT UP expects higher PC sales than consoles, as is evident in Black Myth: Wukong's resounding success on the platform. There is no definite release date yet, but SHIFT UP is already working on the clock for a 2025 release window.
