What Is It?
Pokemon GO has announced a brand new event that is going to take place next week in celebration of Lunar New Year.
They have posted a brand new blog post detailing the event here, but down below is all the information you need!
Happy Lunar New Year! The Pokémon GO Lunar New Year event is happening once again, featuring various red Pokémon, some lucky bonuses, and, in celebration of the Year of the Ox, Timed Research featuring Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokémon! Plus, Gyarados will be able to Mega Evolve for the first time in Pokémon GO. Are you red-y? Take a look at the details below.

Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 14, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. local time

Gyarados will be out and about in the wild, with a chance for you to catch your own Shiny Gyarados!

Bonuses
Gifts will contain more Poké Balls, so be sure to send lots of Gifts to your friends.
You’re more likely to become Lucky Friends with your friends, so be sure to swap Gifts, battle in raids, and trade with them!
When you trade a Pokémon, it’ll be more likely to become a Lucky Pokémon.
Trading range will be temporarily increased to 40 km from Monday, February 8, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, February 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PST(GMT −8).
