Sims 4: Cheats for PC and Consoles

An integral part of the Sims since its first release is cheats. Need more money? No problem. Want to move furniture somewhere else? Cool, you can. Here's all the Sims 4 cheats you need to know.

The Sims 4 lets you create your own character and thrust them into a world that you can change whenever you feel like it. You have immense control over all aspects of the life of your Sim including their relationships, career and traits. However, a lot of the game requires time and patience.

How To Use Cheats In The Sims 4

To be able to use cheats on PC, you must be in the game. Press "Ctrl + Shift + C" at the same time to bring up the text box at the top of the screen.

If you are using Playstation or Xbox, press all four shoulder buttons at the same time. This is where you can type in any of the cheats listed below.

Sims 4 Cheats For Money

Note: to use these cheats in the game, you'll need to type testingcheats true into the dialogue box and hit enter. Then you can continue to put in the following cheats.

• Kaching
  • Gives you 1,000 Simoleons
    
• Rosebud
  • Gives you 1,000 Simoleons
    
• Motherlode
  • Gives you 50,000 Simoleons
    
• Money [NUMBER]
  • This will change your household funds into whatever number you put as x. For example, if we typed in "Money 125000" the household funds would turn into 125,000 Simoleons.
    
• FreeRealEstate On
  • This will make all lots in the neighbourhood free. You can move into any lot without paying for it.

Build Mode Cheats

With testingcheats enabled, you can use these cheats to break the building rules in-game. You need to be in build mode for them to work.

• bb.showhiddenobjects
  • This cheat will give you access to in-game items that had been hidden such as special event ones after the event has ended.
    
• bb.showliveeditobjects
  • Use the above cheat, then use this one to unlock extra environmental objects like lampposts and signs.
    
• bb.enablefreebuild
  • This cheat lets you build on any lot you want to. Bored of how your park looks? Go ahead and change it!
    
• bb.moveobjects on
  • This cheat lets you move objects to places that the typical build/buy grid format wouldn't let you do. Remember to turn it off by typing in bb.moveobjects off if placing objects become difficult.
    
• bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement
  • This will unlock all of the items and objects that are locked to a specific career path or career level.

Live Mode Cheats

If you have testingcheats enabled, then you can do a major cheat that will make taking care of your Sims much easier. Once you have enabled the cheat, right-click on your sim and select "cheat need". From here, you will have several options you can choose from:

• Fill Needs Household
  • This will fill all of the needs of your entire Sims household.
    
• Disable Household Needs Decay
  • This stops the needs such as Bladder and Hunger from being lowered. Essentially, the needs remain static and you will no longer need to worry about monitoring them.
    
• resetsim [FIRST NAME] [LAST NAME]
  • This resets the chosen sim and is particularly useful if they are stuck somewhere.
    
• death.toggle true/false
  • This turns the sims ability to die on and off.
    
• sims.add_buff_ghostly
  • Turn your sim into a ghost for 4 in-game hours.
    
• sims.give_satisfaction_points [NUMBER]
  • Fill the brackets in with the amount of satisfaction points you want to award your sim with.
    
• fillmotive motive_[MOTIVE NAME]
  • This will fill the current motive of your Sim. It works for Fun, Social, Bladder, Energy, Hygiene and Hunger.
    
• sims.fill_all_commodities
  • Fills all motives for your entire sim household. A great way of making everyone happy without putting in the work.
    
• aspirations.complete_current_milestone
  • Your sim can have aspirations. This cheat helps them to reach their goal quickly and you get to reap the rewards.
    
• traits.equip_trait [TRAIT NAME]
  • This will give your Sim a trait of your choice
    
• traits.remove_trait [TRAIT NAME]
  • This cheat removes the trait of your choice from your Sim.
    
• traits.clear_traits
  • Fed up of your Sim's attitude? This cheat allows you to wipe all of their traits and start again.

Also, with the testingcheats enabled, you can right-click the ground anywhere in the Sim world and select "teleport Sim" to instantly take them there. You can right-click on a Sim and select "Modify in CAS" to head to create-a-sim to customise them.

Sims 4 Cheats For Careers

Activate testingcheats true in your dialogue box then follow the format below for any career you desire:

• careers.promote [CAREER NAME]
  • This will promote your sim in the career typed in the box. This cheat can be used for Full-Time Careers.
    
• careers.promote parttime [CAREER NAME
  • You can promote your Sim in their part-time career.
    

Sims 4 Cheats For Skills

These are all the skills that Sims can learn, in both base game and Expansions and Game Packs. Type into the dialogue box: "stats.set_skill_level [CHEAT] [SKILL NUMBER]". The skill number refers to what level you'd like to set the skill to. The numbers can vary with each skill, but we've listed them with their max level to complete the skill for you.

Children And Toddler's Skills Cheats

You can cheat to improve your Sims skills without waiting hours for them to fulfill tasks. To do this, type "stats.set_skill_level major [SKILL] [NUMBER]" then you can type in the skill and what number you want to improve it to. Each skill level goes from 0-10. Here are all of the options for the base game:

• skill_child_social
• skill_child_mental
• skill_child_motor
• skill_child_creativity
• skill_toddler_thinking
• skill_toddler_communication
• skill_toddler-potty
• skill_toddler-movement
• skill_toddler_imagination

Sims 4 Cheats For Friendships and Relationships

Making friends or getting into a relationship in Sims can take time. These cheats can speed up the process and they can allow you to make your Sims relationships as dramatic or romantic as you like. An example of a cheat would be: modifyrelationship Bella Goth Eliza Pancakes 10 frienship_main.

• modifyrelationship [SIM FIRST NAME] [SIM LAST NAME] [SIM FIRST NAME] [SIM LAST NAME] [NUMBER] romance_main
  • Adds designated number of romance points between the two sims. Type in higher numbers if you want the romance to progress quickly.
    
• modifyrelationship [SIM FIRST NAME] [SIM LAST NAME] [SIM FIRST NAME] [SIM LAST NAME] [NUMBER] friendship_main
  • Adds chosen number of friendship points to the relationship between the two sims.
    
• relationships.create_friends_for_sim
  • This will make a friend of your Sim appear nearby. Typically, it will be a brand new friend.
    
• relationships.introduce_sim_to_all_others
  • This cheat will instantly make your Sim friends with their neighbours.

If you really want to cheat the game, then you can hold down "shift" and right-click on another Sim. Select "Add to Family" to add that Sim to your household and gain control of them.
