In Slime Rancher 2 there is a wide range of Slimes available for you to capture and keep on your farm. Here's a field guide on where to find them, and what to feed them.
Pink Slime
- Diet - Fruit, Veggies, Meat
- Favourite Food - None
- Location - Rainbow Field, Ember Valley, Starlight Strand
Pink Slimes are the first creatures you meet in Slime Rancher and populate the area right outside the Ranch. They're plentiful and easy to feed.
Cotton Slime
- Diet - Veggies
- Favourite Food - Water Lettuce
- Location - Rainbow Field, Ember Valley, Starlight Strand
Cotton Slimes are a new addition, and appear often in most areas. They are yellow Slimes with bunny ears that favour vegetable items. We advise an Air Net on their corral as they can hop very high.
Phosphor Slime
- Diet - Fruit
- Favourite Food - Cuberry
- Location - Rainbow Field, Ember Valley (at night)
Found only at night, Phosphor Slimes create a soft glow as they float around. You'll need high walls, an air net, and a Solar Shield to keep them safe and contained on the Ranch, and they feed on fruit.
Tabby Slime
- Diet - Meat
- Favourite Food - Stony Hen
- Location - Rainbow Field (at night), Starlight Strand, Ember Valley
Everyone's favourite Tabby Slimes are back and are plentiful on the Far, Far Range. They resemble grey cats, and they favour Stony Hens. Be careful if one gets loose, though, as they steal food and Plorts which can lead to Tarrs on the ranch!
Angler Slime
- Diet - Meat
- Favourite Food - Sea Hen
- Location - Starlight Strand, Ember Valley
The first new Slime you'll meet is likely the Angler Slime. Though not aquatic, they resemble angler fish and eat meat. They need no special additions to a corral. They appear frequently on the Starlight Strand, and on Ember Valley.
Crystal Slime
- Diet - Veggies
- Favourite Food - Odd Onion
- Location - Ember Valley
Crystal Slimes are back in Slime Rancher 2 and can be found in caves on Ember Valley. They can harm you if they bounce into you, so be careful while ranching them.
Rock Slime
- Diet - Veggies
- Favourite Food - Heart Beets
- Location - Ember Valley, Starlight Strand
Rock Slimes, the pointy blue slimes, aren't to be confused with Crystals. They also feed on Veggies, and will harm Bea if you get too close.
Ringtail Slime
- Diet - Fruit, Veggies, Meat
- Favourite Food - None
- Location - Ember Valley
Perhaps the hardest to Ranch new Slime is the mysterious Ringtail. You won't find them in the overworld, or in the daytime. In daylight, Ringtails appear as statues that you'll need to move into a cave to turn back into Ringtails. Then you can suck them up and take them home.
They require a Solar Shield on their corral. Ringtail Slimes will eat anything, constantly, and won't always produce Plorts. We recommend an auto-feeder to avoid wasting food.
Batty Slime
- Diet - Fruit
- Favourite Food - Pomegranite
- Location - Ember Valley
Another new Slime swooping into Slime Rancher 2 is the Batty Slime. They reside in caves in Ember Valley and will need a Solar Shield in their corrals unless you keep them in the cave extension.
Puddle Slime
- Location - Ponds on Starlight Strand and Ember Valley
Finding Puddle Slimes can be tricky. They live in ponds dotted around the map, usually in isolated locations. They're shy and will live in a buildable pond on your ranch. You don't need to feed them, either.
Honey Slime
- Diet - Fruit
- Favourite Food - Mint Mango
- Location - Starlight Strand
Found in a garden area further into the Starlight Strand is Honey Slimes - adorable, yellowy-brown friends that love Mint Mangos. You'll need one Honey Plort to unlock an underground tunnel on Starlight Strand, and some to make gadgets for the Ranch.
Boom Slime
- Diet - Meat
- Favourite Food - Unknown
- Location - Lava cave on Ember Isle
The explosive slimes are back, and can be found in a cave with Crystal, Batty, and Fire Slimes on Ember Isle. They can hurt Bea, so be careful while you're around them. They require no add-ons to their corral - except maybe high walls and an air net so they don't get loose.
Fire Slime
- Location - Lava cave on Ember Isle
These Slimes are the fire equivalent to the adorable Puddle Slimes and require an incinerator to be kept on the ranch. Don't forget the tray attachment to the incinerator - the gadget on its own is only for destroying items, the tray will allow Fire Slimes to eat and live in it.
Hunter Slime
- Diet - Meat
- Favourite Food - Roostro
- Location - Starlight Strand
The sneaky Hunter Slimes have returned, this time on Starlight Strand. They can jump at Bea and try to bite her, so be careful while approaching. Oh, they also turn invisible. If they aren't fed regularly, they will turn feral, too.
Flutter Slime
- Diet - Fruit
- Favourite Food - Moondew Nectar
- Location - Starlight Strand
Last but not least, the rarest Slime is Flutter Slimes. They spawn on the pink side of the Starlight Strand, and feed off the seldom-found Moondew Nectar. They can and will fly out of corrals, so keep them in with an Air Net. They will also calm nearby agitated Slimes, so would benefit being close to Sabers, Hunters, or Crystals.
