Taming recoil in Call of Duty is key if you want to master Activision's storied shooter series. As more information on Modern Warfare 3 is revealed, players are continuing to search for intel on various aspects of multiplayer.

Ahead of the game's launch, Sledgehammer Games has unveiled a wealth of movement changes that are expected to increase the pace of play, in addition to health adjustments which have divided player opinion.

Before players have an opportunity to take part in the beta, one has suggested a simple change they think could improve the recoil of the entire weapon arsenal.

Modern Warfare 3 fans are hoping for recoil improvements

After becoming fed up of the visual aspects of recoil in in Modern Warfare 2, user DXT0anto has taken to Reddit armed with a potential solution to the issue.

They suggested that the ideal version of the mechanic would: "Make the recoil predictably strong, but don't make me guess in which direction I have to shoot just because the smoke machine integrated in my gun is working overtime."

Infinity Ward's 2022 release featured plenty of weapon smoke and muzzle flash, resulting in some players struggling to maintain accuracy in mid-range and long-distance combat. Judging by the comments on the post, there are plenty of players in favour of the suggestion. One declared: "As a MnK (mouse and keyboard) player, I 110% approve of this. The biggest downside we have is all the clutter while we're trying to shoot."

It's unclear if Sledgehammer Games plans on adjusting the recoil levels of the gun list, but if the developer continues to follow the trend of addressing issues players experienced in Modern Warfare 2, there's a chance weapon performance will change.

The beta will be the first chance to see if any recoil adjustments are applied. In the meantime, we'll have to wait for Call of Duty Next to hear more about what MW3 multiplayer has to offer.
