While a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 players are already imagining how sweet life will be when the Phantom Liberty Expansion arrives and they can ditch their old mate Keanu Reeves for a fresh celebrity friend in Idris Elba, some are still chilling in Night City while they wait.
When they’re not busy fighting for the best seats the metropolis has to offer or grabbing a few drinks at The Afterlife before they head home at the end of a long day, many of these chooms can be found shooting or quickhacking their way through dangerous foes to complete a gig for a fixer.
Naturally, living the dangerous life of a futuristic mercenary without ending up in a body bag requires some intensely honed combat skills. If you feel as though your character needs to brush up on their trigger discipline and want to be able to do so without alarming any innocent citizens, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.
Get some extra combat drills in before heading out on your next gig
The mod in question is called ‘Wilson's Range’ and is the work of prolific modder Deceptious. Some of their previous work has given you the chance to immersively sit down and grab a drink in any of Night City’s bars and added unique cats to each of the metropolis’ purchasable apartments.
But this time, they’ve decided to open up the shooting range at Megabuilding H10’s branch of 2nd Amendment, which is only usually functional during the mission ‘Shoot to Thrill’. This mod allows the Megabuilding to be free for you to use whenever you like.
Conveniently located within walking distance of V’s default apartment in Megabuilding H10, the version of the range you’ll encounter outside of the quest will give you the chance to take on 60-second practice sessions. The targets you hit are tracked and will give you a score once time expires.
However, don’t worry if you struggle a bit during your first attempt at this reaction-testing gauntlet. It can be re-tried as many times and with as many different guns as you like, by simply interacting with the range’s unoccupied stall.
Although, Deceptious emphasises that you may struggle to activate the range during the period of in-game time when you initially receive the ‘Shoot to Thrill’ mission. Their current advice for those who find the range inaccessible after the mission is complete is to simply exit and re-enter the Megabuilding and even the area itself until things refresh.
The mod comes in two different versions designed to suit whichever method of installation you prefer, with one being specifically tailored for REDmod.
