While Cyberpunk 2077 has endured a difficult lifespan since its 2020 release, with a barrage of bugs and glitches on various platforms originally putting players off, things are finally looking up for the Keanu Reeves friendship simulator.
Following the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a lot of people have been tempted into giving the game another chance, leading to some massive player numbers that have only increased since the announcement that the game will be getting a sequel.
Now, a barrage of new mods might help lure back those who’ve long struggled to manage their cyber finances, with one giving players a chance to offset their cat food bills by beating up innocent vending machines.
Have you ever been left fuming after an item from one of Cyberpunk’s vending machines got stuck before it could drop?
The mod in question is fittingly called ‘Hooligan’ and is the work of prolific modder yakuzadeso. Their previous work has rejigged Night City’s economy in a variety of ways, and given V the ability to land like a superhero whenever they like.
This time, they’ve unleashed the destructive potential of everyone’s favourite megabuilding-dwelling mercenary on inanimate objects. It encourages the cybernetically-enhanced V to slap up vending machines and drop points in order to earn some extra loot.
With the mod installed, battering either of these automated goods dispensers has a chance to result in them dropping some items from their inventory. Or a smattering of small change left over from previous transactions.
However, if you’re not the lucky type, they can also just end up broken without throwing out any goodies. Be warned, though, because this leaves them unable to perform any function outside of those required for missions until they’ve been repaired.
If you’re prepared to risk temporarily depriving Night City’s populace of locust pepperoni pizza and XXL burritos, make sure you also grab jac3km4’s ‘redscript’ and ‘cybercmd’ first. These will help you get the mod working via REDmod.
But regardless of whether you’re now on the way to becoming public enemy number one among the Night City vending community, make sure to follow us for updates on the wacky world of Cyberpunk 2077 modding. We've got plenty of guides just like this one to enhance your time in Night City, including how to turn the technological world into the Matrix, or perhaps most importantly, how to romance Johnny Silverhand.
