In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Dead by Daylight developers Behaviour Interactive have teased a new crossover event. Behaviour is yet to confirm who will be joining the long list of crossover partners, although it hasn't taken long for players to deduce that it'll likely be Alan Wake himself gracing the Realms of Dead by Daylight.

Although the tweet from Dead by Daylight doesn't explicitly state that it's an Alan Wake 2 crossover that is being teased, individuals commenting under the post seem positive that a crossover with the successful survival horror game is in store.

More information is expected from Behaviour on January 9 explaining the meaning of this mysterious tweet. Players may have worked out that Alan Wake 2 will be featured in Dead by Daylight, but we still don't know what this will entail. Will it soon be possible to run away from the Xenomorph as an even-more grisly Alex Casey? We can only hope.

Whilst the symbolism of the flashlight may be a bit too broad to determine that an Alan Wake 2 crossover is coming to Dead By Daylight, the dead giveaway is surely the bloodstained manuscript notes next to the torch.

Alan Wake 2 has been well received critically since its release, finding great success at The Game Awards 2023, securing the awards for Best Art Direction, Best Game Direction, and Best Narrative. With extra content still in the works for Alan Wake 2, crossovers with live-service games such as Dead by Daylight will no doubt serve to keep the game at the forefront of players' minds.

Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight will be able to add another crossover to an already extensive tally, with 23 different collaborations throughout the game's history. These crossovers have predominantly been with other horror titles, although large titles from other genres, such as Rainbow Six Siege or Attack on Titan, have also made an appearance in Dead by Daylight's growing multiverse.

Some fans thought that Behaviour's teaser pointed towards a potential second Stranger Things crossover, following the return of the first Stranger Things crossover late last year. However, it looks more likely that Alan Wake will be the title that is featured. Players will have to wait until January 9 for final confirmation on who'll be the twenty-fourth Dead by Daylight crossover participant.
