Post-release seasons make a return from Diablo 3 to Diablo 4, but now comes with a battle pass. While it is completely optional, those who want it will need to know how to access the battle pass in Diablo 4.
The battle pass in Diablo 4 works a bit differently than in other games, considering players will need their characters to be a high level to get a good amount of rewards from the pass. It also directly helps in upgrading your character during the season, so it is a good idea to know where the Battle Pass is located to get the most out of the game.
How to access battle pass in Diablo 4 (Season 1)
With Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant already live, 4 players can access the battle pass through a separate menu. Simply bring up the game menu by pressing the Esc key or View/Share buttons on PlayStation or Xbox, respectively.
There will be several tabs at the top of the screen for your map, your clan, and other options. The tab you want to select is called Season.

The Season tab will show any progress you have made in the battle pass alongside separate menus for the seasonal objectives, Season Blessings, and the option to purchase the premium pass if you have not done so yet.
Both the battle pass menu and the Season tab were not available at launch, and have just been added with the release of Season 1.
What is in the Diablo 4 battle pass?
The battle pass contains 100 tiers of rewards for players to earn over the course of a season. The pass has 27 tiers of rewards that players can earn for free, while buying the premium battle pass is necessary to receive the other 63 tiers.

The free tiers offers some cosmetic pieces and Smoldering Ashes, which are resource items that can be spent on Season Blessings to further upgrade your character during the season. Although, those Blessing upgrades that increase XP and other stats are only temporary. You will have to start again when the next season begins.
The premium tiers of the battle pass include more cosmetic items and Platinum, the game's currency that can be bought with real money. The Platinum can be used to buy cosmetic outfits form the game's shop, or towards the purchase of the next season's battle pass.
