Fortnite has had over 30 seasons since its launch in 2017. Fans dubbed the latest season the worst of all time, thanks to overly powered jetpacks and overused Marvel themes.
The recent Chapter 5 Season 4 is named Absolute Doom, which can be synonymous with how some fans thought about Fortnite recently.
In a Reddit post, user u/Haunting_Fox_8085 asked the community how they felt about the season now that there are less than 10 days before it ends.
Many fans think that the recent chapter and season feel subpar compared to what Fortnite had in the past. Others mentioned that the event Fortnitemares is what made them come back and play the battle royale after weeks of hiatus.
On top of the repeated Marvel themes and overwhelming crossover items, the mediocre battle pass items turned many players off from jumping again into Fortnite.

Another fan shared that they would rather have a whole year of Chapter 4 instead of what they had for this year, not just indicating how bad Chapter 5 was but also highlighting Chapter 4.
Having to do a single great chapter for a whole year would feel like eating the same exact favorite meal over and over again with no complaints. This just goes to show that Fortnite can surely bring out better seasons in the future and avid fans can expect to see seasons like Chapter 4.
Different factors contribute to why the community feels like this towards Fortnite Absolute Doom. Developers and publishers may have different perspectives as to what makes a video game great, but player feedback and how they spend their money speak louder regarding the quality of products they receive from developers and publishers.
While Absolute Doom failed to please many Fortnite fans, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 is just around the corner ready to make things better. With the next end-of-season event speculated to be happening this week, players can look forward to a brand-new battle pass and seasonal items.
