2025 can't come any sooner now that GTA 5 fans are looking for other ways to cope with Rockstar's almost-perpetual development of GTA 6. Rockstar showcased the game's trailer almost 10 months ago, and the GTA drought has brought the fans staring back at GTA 5's enormous map once again. This time, players are discussing how vast and empty the GTA 5 map feels and how GTA 6 will change things up next year.
Originally posted on Reddit by user u/CellistLow1383, they shared a meme displaying that the entire GTA 5 map can hold the maps of GTA San Andres, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption. They then proceeded to ask the community what they think of GTA 6, possibly implying what the community feels about the current GTA 5 map and their insights about the map of GTA 6.
Many fans agree that Los Santos and the nearby areas feel barren. GTA V's map was created to provide adequate space for flying aircraft, but players still think that after three generations of consoles, GTA 5's map is "a city, and a whole lotta nothin' but rock." The map's northern side is just a vast mountainscape, and players are given no incentive to venture out of the city aside from the occasional missions.

Some players feel that GTA San Andreas' map is still superior to GTA V's, with the city being dynamic and alive. Others pointed out that San Andreas feels like there are no dead ends around the map, interconnecting different city areas with its wilderness in every direction. When players criticize an 11-year-old map, things start to get serious. Staring at the same map on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 takes a toll on one's space-time perception. It's high time that Rockstar gave what the fans deserve, and hopefully, they will get to see GTA 6 before Concord 2 comes out.
