While some are already focused on what might happen once GTA 6 gets a concrete release date, many GTA Online players are just trying to make the most of their remaining time in Los Santos.
After all, with Last Dose missions to play through, plenty of events to get involved in and an array of new cars having been dispatched over the past few months, along with a cool place to store them, there’s still plenty of interesting stuff around in the game to keep enterprising criminals busy, regardless of whether they’re fans of Rockstar’s upcoming price changes.
However, it seems as though some of these hardened bank-robbers and contraband-sellers are getting a little tired of living on the wrong side of the law, with a new Reddit trend seeing them announce the regular jobs their characters have taken up.
What do you think of this new trend that seems to be gripping the GTA Online community?
These abrupt career changes have been popping up in various threads across the GTA Online subreddit for the past few days, with the massive array of occupations being transitioned to possibly signalling that the GTA Online protagonist’s CV is a bit more versatile than you might think.
It’s pretty easy to understand how spending several years getting to daily gunfights across San Andreas might stand you in good stead to land gigs like being an FIB agent or weapon vendor, as users TacBandit and nananka look to have done.
However, some of the career paths being picked are a bit more surprising for someone with a background of stick-ups and dodgy dealings, with user Either_Carry having elected to become an attorney and reveal: “(I’m) currently going to the court to defend my first client, who allegedly blew up cargo”.
User jairngo’s new position as a hotdog salesperson, while less likely to immediately result in a miscarriage of justice, is just as unexpected, given that the only experience most GTA protagonists have preparing food is dishing out knuckle sandwiches.
Meanwhile, it seems a few contrarians are taking the opportunity to turn this growing meme, which has also seen Los Santos gain some new lifeguards, bus drivers and even a tattoo artist, on its head, with user DystopianNomad declaring: “With everyone leaving their life of crime behind to enter the workforce, I've become the most powerful criminal enterprise in Los Santos. Enjoy minimum wage, losers!”
