In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, you take on the role of Titus, tasked with wiping out every enemy in your path. As you encounter more challenging enemies, basic weapons will no longer be enough to ensure your survival.
To stay one step ahead of the increasing danger, you'll need to seek out weapon upgrades and perks in Operation mode. These perks boost your weapon’s performance and improve your odds of victory in combat. If you're looking for more information on unlocking weapon perks, this guide has got you covered.
How to Unlock Weapon Perks in Operations
In Space Marine 2, weapon perks are special skills related to your weapons. To unlock perks, you will need to utilize two in-game currencies: Mastery Points and Armory Data. To unlock weapon perks, you must first collect as many weapon experience points (XP) as possible.
You can earn these points during Operations missions by using any weapon. The more a weapon is used in battles, the more XP it gets. Once you gain enough weapon XP, you will unlock different tiers of weapons: Standard, Master-Crafted, Artificer, and Relic.
Each tier of upgrades requires a specific type of Armory Data. Fortunately, you can also earn this by completing Operations missions. Just be sure to adjust the difficulty level, as higher-tier Armory Data can only be acquired through higher-difficulty missions.
There will be four different tiers specific to each type of armory data.
- Tier 1 (Standard): 0 – 1,500 XP, and requires 1 Master-Crafted Armory Data.
- Tier 2 (Master-Crafted): 1,500 – 7,500 XP, and requires 1 Master-Crafted Armory Data.
- Tier 3 (Artificer): 7,500 – 17,000 XP, and requires 1 Artificer Armory Data.
- Tier 4 (Relic): 17,000 XP and above, and requires 1 Relic Armory Data.
For each weapon perk, you will need to spend the Mastery Points. These points are gained when the weapon experience bar is full. Once you get a Mastery Point, spend it on one of the two available weapon perks in your current tier.
How to Use Weapon Perks
Once you have unlocked a perk slot, head to the Armoring Hall. Choose the Perk Tree option for the weapon that you want to upgrade. You can use your Mastery Points and Armory Data to get new perks in this menu.
Remember that Mastery Points are a limited resource, so choosing your perks carefully is important. Pick perks that align with your playstyle. The good news is you can reset your weapon perks anytime without losing your Mastery Points.
