Since the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed, fans have wondered what games will be available for the console.

It’s unclear what kind of computing power Switch 2 will deliver yet, but one game is said to be playable for Switch 2, which wasn’t possible for the original version.

Is Diablo IV Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

According to eXputer writer eXtas1s (via Video Games Chronicle), Diablo IV is one of the playable games already primed for the arrival of the Switch 2. The source says, “According to what I’ve been told, Diablo 4 is already in the works for Nintendo Switch 2, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Diablo 4 was released in 2025 on Switch 2.”

For context, Diablo IV launched in 2023 and is currently available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5. If it is made available for Switch 2, Nintendo's upcoming console will have more computing power than the original Switch.

Either that or the Diablo IV port on the Switch 2 has been tweaked to play on a less powerful console. However, considering the capabilities of the Steam Deck, fans are almost sure that Nintendo is ready to set itself apart with its upcoming console.

What’s New for the Nintendo Switch 2?

Fans don’t know much about the specs when it comes to the Switch 2, but based on the reveal trailer, they can be sure that the console is bigger than its predecessor.

The joy-cons have a new way of connecting to the main tablet, relieving some longtime Switch fans. Though the Switch ‘Click’ has come to define the console, some have said that the joy-cons have started to slip over time. With the magnetized version in the Switch 2, that problem may as well be eliminated.

This feature has only been hinted at, but it does seem that the new joy-cons have an optical mouse function—which opens up the Switch 2 for more games and functions. Maybe the reason for the Switch being able to bend so low on its stand is that it can also function as a pseudo-laptop, allowing players to have a make-shift keyboard-and-mouse set-up on the Switch 2.

Then again, this is just speculation based on the teaser, but seeing that Nintendo is known for its innovation in the gaming space, the pressure is definitely on for the company to bring something new to the table—especially after the success of the original Switch—, which is considered to be the third best-selling console of all time, with 146 million units sold.

Fans are waiting for the official showcase in April. Hopefully, Nintendo will also announce many games that will be playable around launch, including Diablo IVWith the console expected to launch this year, fans are hoping for a library of new games, including the original Switch games that are said to be playable on the Switch 2.

No release date has been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, but the company will showcase it in full during Nintendo Direct on April 2.
