If there’s one thing that GTA Online players love, it’s their airborne vehicles.

From Top Gun-style jets to simple passenger planes and even the humble blimp, they just can’t get enough of taking to the skies, regardless of whether this is to pick a fight with a griefer, live out their supervillain fantasies or just to go for a relaxing cruise.

As a result of this obsession, coming between a GTA player and their craft of choice would seem like a bad idea, but that hasn’t stopped one of the game’s muggers from going beyond the line of duty to do just that.

Sometimes GTA Muggers Go One Step Beyond

The thread concerning this strange event in the GTA Online subreddit began with user Wooble_Gopp sharing a clip of the crime taking place, with the mugger mounting the jet as it takes off, before throwing the unfortunate player out of the cockpit and flying off in the plane having also nabbed some pocket change in the process.

A few users were quick to offer their condolences to the victim, with walmartballer saying: “that had to be the most frustrating and hilarious experience” and xKhira adding: “Imma have to give you some compensation back via Reddit. That mugger did you dirty lmao. Have an award.”

Meanwhile, the majority of other players in the thread seemed in awe of the mugger, with user TEN10penny suggesting: “that mugger deserves a medal”, while the tastefully-named IveBangedYourMomm argued that credit for the operation should go to everyone involved, saying: “I hope the person who called the mugger knows how successful this was.”

User vintagesoul_DE went so far as to liken the mugger to a Hollywood action hero, saying: “Looks like something from an 80s Arnold (Schwarzenegger) action movie. 'Sorry, you are in my zeet '.”

On the other hand, some users shared personal stories of their own exploits using muggers, with Hurstoy declaring: “Sometimes I will call a mugger on a random player from inside my apartment then sit down and spectate that player on my tv and see it in action.”

Sadly it seems not all of these escapades end well, with RocketScientific forlornly admitting: “my muggers always commit suicide”.

Regardless of whether or not you’ve had any mugging success in GTA Online, make sure to follow us for more updates as new content, possibly starring Michael from single-player, is released.
