Season 1 of Marvel Rivals will focus mostly on the Fantastic Four, but fans already know that more characters will be introduced within the year. Leaks have revealed Ultron, Blade, MODOK, and more.

Fans know that there are some more X-Men characters incoming, but a new leak suggests even more from Xavier’s group of gifted youngsters, and it pretty much completes the beloved X-Men ’97 roster.

More X-Men Coming to Marvel Rivals

In a recent leak from @X0X_LEAK, it’s been revealed that fan favorites Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee are going to be coming to the game. Here’s the post:

The same leaker has confirmed that Beast and Nightcrawler will appear in the game. Though Nightcrawler has been confirmed to be a Duelist, it’s still unclear what Beast will be in-game; at best, he could be a mobile tank, like Winston from Overwatch.

No release windows have been confirmed for these characters, but NetEase has said they plan to release a new hero every 1.5 months. Depending on the confirmed incoming heroes, fans may have to wait until next year before any of these leaked characters become playable.

X-Men in Marvel Rivals

For now, the game has a good roster of playable X-Men characters, but not all are considered major players in the franchise. Sure, there are Storm and Wolverine, but there are also more obscure characters like Magik and Psylocke. Magneto’s role as an X-Man is pretty complicated, and Namor mostly gets connected to the team just because of his status as a mutant.

Previous leaks have also confirmed other incoming X-Men, including Emma Frost, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Colossus, and Professor X. Deadpool has also been confirmed as an incoming hero if anyone wants to count him as an X-Man.

Should all the leaked heroes come to the game, then Marvel Rivals would have completed the main X-Men ’97 base roster. Even if that was the case, there’s still Magneto’s Brotherhood to draw characters from, as well as other X-villains like Callisto, Apocalypse, Mister Sinister, and the advanced sentinel Bastion.

When Will These Come Out

Considering NetEase’s release window and the number of popular mutants in the franchise, the developers could spend an entire year or more just releasing X-Men characters. Everything depends on the narratives they decide to go for with each season.

Even with Season 1, it does feel like the Fantastic Four were shoe-horned in. It’s possible that they originally planned to introduce Blade in the Season where Dracula is the main villain, but they just decided to introduce the Four to get people hyped up for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, which releases this July.

The X-Men have an entire season planned, and a map has been created that would transport players to the X-Mansion. Fans will just have to wait and see when NetEase makes the big reveal.

Marvel Rivals is now playable for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. No release date has been announced for any incoming mutant characters.
