Remedy Entertainment has announced that it will be working on remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne packaged into one title simply called Max Payne 1&2. Proper details on Max Payne 1&2 aren’t known yet since the project was just announced but it will be developed with Remedy’s Northlight Engine, which has been used on Control and Quantum Break.
Here’s what Remedy had to say about the Max Payne 1&2 project and working with Rockstar Games, the owners of the Max Payne IP:
“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans worldwide feel the same. We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”

Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake
We haven’t seen a new game in the Max Payne series since the launch of Max Payne 3 in 2012, so it’s been a little over 10 years since fans have gotten a Max Payne instalment. Thanks to the Northlight engine, it will be interesting to see just how different they look and how gameplay is going to change from the previous iterations.
Max Payne 1&2 doesn’t have a release date yet but will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Fans interested in the original Max Payne games can pick them up now on Steam.
