It's almost that special time of year again! Minecraft Live brings an opportunity for players to take part in the mob vote and decide on the game's newest creature. Previous years saw us voting for the Sniffer, Allay, and Glow Squid, and while some wish the losers of previous years would get another chance at the polls, it seems they'll have to keep dreaming.

A Reddit post appears to show a leak from Minecraft's official YouTube channel. If it's to be believed, this year's mob vote will see us choosing one of three beach-themed creatures that are sure to bring a bit of life to the game's coastlines - or chase away players that get too close.

As Minecraft Live prepares to begin on October 15, the game's official YouTube channel has shared a few short teasers. One shows the fan-favourite Tiny Agnes, Tiny Vu and Tiny Jens sailing across the ocean, giving the leaks some weight.

Minecraft mob vote 2023 leaks

As shared by reddit user u/Quilavapro31, a screenshot of what appears to be the Minecraft Live 2023 playlist has some unlisted additions. If the screenshot is to be believed, you can expect to cast a vote for Crabs, Seagulls, or Jellyfish.

One user, u/First-Ad394, believed the mob vote leaks and outlined an idea of how the creatures could appear in future videos - as Tiny Agnes and the gang continue to sail,

"I think I know how it will look. Seagull lands on their ship so they know that land is nearby, they meet jellyfish before they find land, and they meet crabs on a beach."

Previous years have seen a similar format - the game's developers talk about their ideas for the creature alongside a short animation, and gamers get to spend a few weeks arguing and casting their votes before the ultimate winner is revealed.

It's rare to see the mob votes so focused on one theme, however. Previous years have offered more variety, with 2022's vote between the Sniffer, Tuff Golem, and Rascal providing a good bit of variety. Conversely, this could indicate that the votes will go towards one part of a larger beach-themed update, and hopefully one that fans won't have to wait too long for.

Even if the leaks turn out to be fabricated, there's a lot to look forward to with Minecraft Live 2023. New updates with their blocks and mechanics could be teased, and a beach theme might see an overhaul to buried treasure.
