A popular Call of Duty mechanic has made its return, much to the delight of Modern Warfare 3 fans.
As part of the Season 3 Reloaded update for Call of Duty, Sledgehammer Games has introduced the Arcade Playlist, an all-new selection of maps and modes with several adjustments designed to create a more casual experience.
Bunny hopping has been utilized by players across a number of Call of Duty titles as a way of gaining an advantage during a gunfight. Having been an ineffective mechanic, hopping around the map is back and players loading into matches are loving it.
After loading into the Arcade Playlist, X user MxsnWZ uploaded a short clip of bunny hopping being more effective than ever before.
Other players were quick to share their thoughts on Modern Warfare 3 bunny hopping. "It looks so good," says one fan. Another adds: "Looks very floaty, but hopefully they add it to the main game with minor tweaks to be less floaty."
Bunny hopping skyrocketed in popularity following the launch of 2019's Modern Warfare. The mechanic allowed players to perform a second jump shortly after performing the first one. As a result, the extra movement disrupts aim assist, giving the jumper the upper hand.
So far, the bunny hopping technique is exclusive to the Arcade Playlist in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. Sledgehammer Games hasn't revealed any plans to add even faster movement to the standard multiplayer and ranked modes. However, the developer often acknowledges player feedback so there's always a possibility for changes in future updates if enough fans are demanding an overhaul.
For now, the Arcade Playlist is the only place where bunny hopping makes an impact in Modern Warfare 3. With the Call of Duty 2024 reveal on the horizon, all eyes will be on Treyarch to see if the studio has opted for a bunny hop return or another method for players to gain an advantage during an evenly-matched gunfight.
