The annual Consumer Electronic Show, or CES, will take place on January 7, and many Nintendo fans will finally receive official news about the Nintendo Switch 2.
However, this most-awaited update is not coming from Nintendo itself but from Genki, a gaming accessories manufacturer that also manufactures various accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In an announcement on the CES website, Genki stated that they will share information about the Switch 2 and some accessories they made for the next-gen Nintendo console.
Based on their product offerings, Genki possibly created a dock, a charger, or a compatible Bluetooth controller for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Speculations about the console have started to circulate in a Reddit post, with many fans wondering why would Genki proceed to announce and share details about the Nintendo Switch 2 if Nintendo hasn't officially released anything yet.

Others say that Nintendo possibly pushed the announcement date, affecting manufactured stocks from third-party companies like Genki. It would make sense that Genki would want to have sales from the Nintendo Switch accessories within the timeline they initially forecasted.
Information from CES 2025 might affect the official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement in one way or another, but the Nintendo Switch 2 leaks have been circulating for many months already and this will just be another marketing advantage for Nintendo.
This is quite similar to how Rockstar handled the December 27 theories. It's a win-win situation for Rockstar Games, but it's acceptance time again for many broken-hearted fans.
The Genki CES announcement also prompted many Nintendo fans to speculate that there will be an announcement regarding the console before January 7th. Time and time again, announcements have proven to be many gamers' kryptonite.
While it isn't impossible to hear from Nintendo about the console before January 7th, it would be best to avoid setting yourself up for disappointment. Instead, you can slowly work on your gaming backlogs this January using our handy guide.
