When they’re not going on heroic quests, battling the ebony warrior or teaming up with the Blades to defeat Alduin, modders have given Skyrim’s Dragonborn a litany of weird and wacky scenarios to get caught up in.
From fighting a horde of Falmer who sound like Gollum to becoming the ruler of Solitude and massacring an entire village using only the power of dabbing, the list is almost endless.
However, it now seems as though the modding scene of its predecessor in the Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion, is staging fightback on the bizarre antics front, with a new mod claiming to be able to help you order a real takeaway using the game.
Is this the strangest Elder Scrolls mod you’ve ever seen?
The mod in question is called ‘Nickies' Pizzablivion’ and, naturally, is the work of modder Nikies42, whose previous work has given you the chance to fuse Skyrim’s NPCs together and initiate a gang war that’ll cause chaos throughout Cyrodiil.
This time they’ve gone a step further, utilising Python, the Oblivion Script Extender and Demolishun’s ‘OBSE Plugin Network Pipe’ mod to allow you to order a pizza from Dominoes (other pizza companies are available) by talking to an NPC, assuming you’ve installed the game in a particular place and are comfortable putting your payment details into Python.
The mod’s description has in-depth instructions on how to do so, with the final step being to talk to an NPC named Pizza Black who can be found in the village of Weye, which is right next to the Imperial City.
According to Nikies42, this interaction should trigger an order to be placed if there is a branch of Dominoes near your location that’s open, though they also admit that they tried it three times and could only get a pizza to arrive successfully on one of those occasions.
So, keep both that and the fact that giving your credit card information to a random Oblivion mod probably isn’t a good idea in mind. While this is an interesting way to show just how strange modding can get, you’re probably best off sticking to traditional ordering methods of you’re feeling a bit peckish.
